Networking
The State Institute for Urban Development is
housed in the Administrative Training Institute
(ATI) campus. The Abdul Nazir Sab State Institute
of Rural Development (ANS SIRD) is also located
in ATI campus. SIUD networked ATI and SIUD.
All the three institutes share their infrastructure,
library, hostel, Training Halls, SATCOM studio
and faculty and recreation facilities and work
in synergy. As a decentralised training strategy,
the SIUD uses facilities of District Training
Institutes (DTIs), which were established by
ATI in all districts in the State. The Institute
has a colloborative networking with the City
Managers Association, Karnataka (CMAK), Regional
Centre for Urban and Environmetal Studies (RCUES),
Hyderabad, and other institutes at State and
National levels.
Collaborations
a) Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with HUDCO/HSMI
The State Institute for
Urban Development,Mysore has entered into a
MoU with the Housing and Urban Development
Corporation (HUDCO), Human Settlement Management
Institute (HSMI), New Delhi in
2003 for a period of five years i.e., up to
31st March 2008 .
The objectives of this collaboration
are:
- To strengthen capacities
of the SIUD
- To suport and undertake
capacity building activities of ULBs for infrastructure
development and management
- To promote action
research
For building capacity,
HUDCO is providing grants for creating HUDCO
chair at the SIUD at the level
of a Professor and Assistant Professor with
supporting Faculty and staff. HSMI, New Delhi
is providing support
of Faculty, curriculum and training modules
development.
b)
Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with NIUA
under FIRE-D Project of US-AID
TheState
Institute for Urban Development, Mysore has
also entered into a MoU with the National Institute
of Urban Affairs, New Delhi in 2005 for a period
up to 30 September 2008 .
In
the third phase of the Financial Institutionns
Reform and Expansion (FIRE-D) of United States
-Aid for International
Development(US-AID), the National Institute
of Urban Affairs (NIUA), New Delhi
to be the nominee and the technical representative
of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government
of India for coordination and organisation of
capacity building training programmes of urban
local bodies through expanded network of training
institutions. NIUA will provide strategic and
financial support to SIUD.
